About Benaulim Beach
Lord Parashuram, the sixth avatar of Vishnu, is said to have created
Konkana by shooting an arrow, which pushed the hills back and raised the
coastal plain from under the sea. The arrow is supposed to have fallen
at Benaulim. In terms of access, it is closer than Colva. As a beach it
has every thing except the crowds which gives it a tranquil look. The
prettiest thing about Benaulim is its nightlife and still have your
solitude. It is one of the famous fishing spots of Goa.
The road from Colva's Char Rasta takes you past Sernabatim to the main
Maria Hall square of Benaulim, 2 kms away. Turn right and drive straight
down to the Benaulim Beach. Park your car and exult in the beauty of
Benaulim's sloping sands meeting the sea.
