About Candolim Beach
Candolim Beach extends from the Taj hotel near the Vaddo of Sinquerim
to Escrovao Vado,on the main Calangute-Candolim Road. This main road and
the lanes off it are packed with shops, hotels and restaurants, much
less crowded. It is also the place where one of the first revolts
against the Portugese rule was launched by Goans, the revolt of the
Pintos, led by Goan Catholic Priests. As you come to the end of
Candolim's Chogm Road, it passes over a deep ditch. This is all that
remains of the moat that once surrounded Fort Aguada, and cut the fort
from the Bardez mainland. Built by the Portugese in 1612 to protect Goa
from the Dutch. Candolim is quiet peaceful than other beaches of Goa.
Alleviated with all sorts of facilities Candolim Beach is meant for all
classes of people.
