About Malpe Beach
The striking blue contrasts the lush green at Malpe, long sandy zone of
golden grains of sand on the bank of Malpe river in Karnataka. A famous
picnic spot, the beach is famous for its beautiful silvery shimmering
stretch and panorama that is borrowed from heaven like beauty. Coupled
with number of activities, the beach is grounded with presiding
tranquility. The river near the beach is navigable and has been a centre
of commercial activity for very long. Malpe is also a natural port with
three rocky islands.

A picnic spot
The pristine beauty, whispering palm trees, golden sandy grain and the
roaring sea has contributed in making Malpe as a wonderful picnic spots.
The beach is decked with tourists from all parts of India to catch a
glimpse of this natural beauty. Malpe has flourished into a very hot
holiday destination in the recent years.
Water activities at Malpe
Malpe is an idyllic place for boating, fishing, bathing and angling as
well as many other water sports too. The sea maintains a calm pace here
except the high tide area and monsoons.
St. Mary Island
St. Mary's Isles group of clubbed little to the north of the port of
Malpe 7 kms form Udupi. Vasco-da-Gama landed in 1498 on one of these
islands which he called `EI Padron de Santa Maria'. It is from this that
these islands got their present name. They are just a few scattered
projections of rock rising out of the western or Arabian Sea around
maple.

The speed boat trip at Maple to St Mary Isles is really interesting.
Besides these Malpe is dotted with tourists places like Balaram Temple
and Ullal.
