Backwater Stoppages
Stop One: Cochin
Cochin is a known to be Queen of Arabian Sea, is flocked
by tourists throughout the year. A famous port for the spice exports,
Cochi is bedighted with old fort and synagogues.
Stop Two: Kasargod
A jaunt in Kasargod is journey unto the infinity of water trips. A
canvass of maverick beauty of landscape made up of the rice fields and
Western Ghats makes Kasargod a cherry on the cake. It houses Chandragiri
and Valiyaparamba., the two backwater destinations at Kerala. Kasargod
is a cluster of small islands with the postcard perfect picture of
sunrise over the sea, Bekal Beach and Bekal Fort.
Stop Three: Kollam
Kollam shares its sprawling space on the lake of Asthamudi, with green
plantations and lotuses and water lilies. To Kollam from the Alapuzzha

chirping and sight of several other aquatic water animals too.
Stop Four: Kottayam
A sail through the fort and ruin of old palaces marks the specialty of
Kottayam backwater. Be sure to be enchanted by the Kottayam Backwaters
with rich green carpet and gleaming waters of Vemabanad Lake. It is alo
associated with the religion of Christianity as it has number of
churches all around. And for sure the rubber plantation have given them
the name of ''The Land of latters, latex and lakes''.
These
boats called "Kettuvalloms" were traditionally used as grain
barges, to transport the rice harvested in the fertile fields alongside
the Kerala Backwaters.
Stop Four: Kozhikode Backwaters
This destination offers much to see than just the waters. Delightfully
Kozhikode is an untainted destination with a métier of being
linked with Vasco Da Gama. Kozhikode backwater ride gives you an
opportunity to sneak peek into places like Kappad Beach, Beypore and
Kadalundi bird Sanctuary.
Stop Five: Kumarakom
A constellation of Island, Kumarakom is sine qua non destination when
going for backwaters trips. The blue backwater lake is contrasted with
the greenery of mangroves, palms and paddy fields with the layer of

Stop Seven: Thiruvallam
A much renowned destination for canoe riding, Thiruvallam is most
wonderful of Kerala Backwaters. Located at the joining point of two
rivers Killi and Karamana, it is one beatified landscape. Also the Veli
lagoon at the little distance from the Thiruvallam provides with the
opportunities of water sports. The backwater ride at the Thiruvallam

Stop Eight:Thiruvananathapuram
